I love the comment that they needed more space so they went to Jehovah in prayer and he blessed them with a larger facility. That is what every company and household does when more space is needed, you either add on to what you have or move to something larger. Why does God have to direct everything?

If there was a resurrection in paradise
by Sour Grapes insomething that bothered me even when i was a watchtower company drone was the thought of dying and being resurrected in paradise.
would the resurrected person really be me or just a copy of me?
if god could recreate one of me, he could also recreate five of me.

Great video! Bad Wolf. Why would God clone billions of dead people who lived in the past 6,000 years? He has to clone them with all of their memories, habits, traits, and personalities or the clone won't be a good replication of the real dead person. Why not just kill everyone one off at Armageddon, except for the JW's of course, and create all new people who love God?

It would be easier for me to believe that when I die my spirit or soul goes to heaven. As one poster said, that would at least be a continuance of life. I am afraid though that when we die that is the end of the line. There is no evidence that not even one person has ever been resurrected unless you believe in the Bible as being 100% reliable.

We are what are memories are. If God were to copy my total memories into the brain of another person and wipe out the person's own memories and make sure there were no mirrors around, the person would think that he would be me. So, I guess that I would not need to die to live again.

Faced with the reality of mortality
by stuckinarut2 inhow have you all coped with facing the reality of our mortality?.
most of us were raised to firmly believe we would never get old or die... so here we are now having to face the reality that are getting older... we are going to die.. sometimes it really pisses me off that we were never helped to comprehend this most basic of facts.
we were given a utopian dream as a "fact", and hence never taught how to face our inevitable futures.... thoughts?.

The cult has robbed so many of the only life they have because of not living in the present...just looking ahead to paradise with pet lions, tigers, elephants, and heaps of crap all over the yard waiting to be stepped into.

For 30 years I believed that I would not grow and die. Now I am over 70 years old and I know that I will die. I believed the first lie in the Bible when Satan told Eve that she would not die. The Watchtower Company has been promising their publishers that they will not die for over 100 years. When I realized that I believed in a lie, I was very depressed and I took medicine to help me cope with life. Every man, women, and child that has ever lived on the earth for the past 6,000 years has died. How stupid was I to think that I wouldn't?
At least churches tell their members that they will die, there is no false hope about that.
I was in a cult. I bought their load of crap hook, line, and sinker.

This old post is 8 years old. I wonder how many Witnesses remember Tony's words back then and if you told them that 8 years later what would be happening in the Borg today they wouldn't die laughing because the end is so close.

The prayer switch
by Sour Grapes insomething that i have often thought about is how does god know when our thoughts go from normal thoughts to when we say a silent prayer?
does god listen to all of the thoughts of earth's 8,000,000,000 people 24/7 and when one person goes into prayer mode then god's ears perk up with an "incoming" alert?
then he has to decide if he answers the prayers to help a brother with cancer or just let the poor guy die.

Half banana,
What a great thought, "What a crazy world it would be if God answered prayers."

Should he direct a witness to go to a certain house to place the magazines or just roll the dice?
It all seems so moronic. If God wanted to reveal himself and prove that he is the one true God, he sure picked the wrong group of people to get the job done.
